Dear Friends,

We are dedicated to utilizing the entertainment industry to induce positive change, in any way we can and anticipate implementing other programs to help those in need. For example, there may be something we can do for your cause, school, shelter, or other organization. We only ask for your patience as my staff and I work entirely on a volunteer basis.

In the meantime, this page is dedicated to heightening awareness on various causes and social issues. If you have a social issue or cause that you seek to raise awareness on and have a provocative fact or quote to support send it to us along with your name or organization and we’ll post it here.

Yours Very Truly!

Maria

DIABETES
“Type 2 Diabetes is becoming increasingly more common in children and adolescents. About 90-95% of people diagnosed with diabetes have type 2.” (DiabetesAware.com)

AUTISM
“Today, 1 in 150 individuals is diagnosed with autism, making it more common than pediatric cancer, diabetes, and AIDS combined. It occurs in all racial, ethnic, and social groups and is four times more likely to strike boys than girls.”

PUBLIC SCHOOL DIVERSITY
“The lesson of history is not that efforts to continue racial segregation are constitutionally indistinguishable from efforts to achieve racial integration. Indeed, it is a cruel distortion of history to compare Topeka, Kansas, in the 1950s to Louisville and Seattle in the modern day.” (Supreme Court Justice, Stephen Breyer regarding 5:4 ruling that race cannot be used as a factor in public school admissions, June 28, 2007, Parents Involved in Community Schools v. Seattle School District and Meredith v. Jefferson County Board of Education)

In the last few years, AIDS infections have once again seen an alarming increase in the United States. Some experts contend that the rate of new infections is equal to those of the early nineteen eighties amongst gay males. Equally disturbing is the amount of new infections amongst underprivileged and minority teens as well as minorities in general.

Tragically, it appears that general apathy over the disease has transpired. Media coverage on the ailment has waned and persons are now subscribing to the theory that AIDS is now easily treatable. Incredibly, some even believe it is curable.

PET NEUTERING
“The Tragic Cycle -One unspayed dog and her offspring can lead to 67,000 dogs in six years. One unspayed cat and her offspring can produce 420,000 cats in seven years.(2) Approximately 70,000 puppies and kittens are born in the United States each day.(3) Some of them are born to breeders who sell animals for a profit, some are born to people who want their cat or dog to have the ?experience? of having a litter or who want their children to witness the ?miracle of life,? and some result from allowing fertile animals to roam freely and mate. Whatever the reason, the number of cats and dogs far exceeds the number of loving homes available.” (PETA.org)
